Summit 2018 ~ Welcome!!

Hello Summit Friends!!

The Summit 2018 website is now OPEN at www.summit-journey.org – thank you for your patience as the Summit Event Team worked diligently to build a new website.

All the information you should need to learn about this year’s event is available online for both church/regional teams and volunteers interested in serving.

If you haven’t heard, Awana transferred full control of the annual Summit event to West Coast Honor Camp as of July 2017 (a 501c3 non-profit and a registered Awana Community Club). If you haven’t already seen the announcement, please view the video from Jeremy Pettitt.

So, who is now running the event? The same Summit Events Team that ran the event last year! Dennis Harley is our Summit Event Coordinator while West Coast Honor Camp [WCHC] sponsors the event. Your Summit Events Team serve from seven different states – Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.

We plan to continue this annual event as you have come to know and love it. Our goal is to make this another exciting week for SUMMIT – THE National Gathering for Awana High School Students!

We would like to thank Jeremy Pettitt, Ed Gossien, and Joel Culberson from Awana for their patience and assistance during the transition. We also want to thank all of the many Awana missionaries that serve as volunteers and those who helped to train all of our venue leaders how to coordinate their areas. Awana missionaries have been the servant backbone of this event for many years. We look forward to and invite all Awana missionaries, leadership, and staff to continue to attend and serve as volunteers at Summit!

Please consider joining us for Summit 2018 in Springfield, Missouri this April.

God Bless,

The Summit Events Team 2018

Summit 2018 Theme

The theme for Summit 2018 has been released!

Theme: Reasons for Hope

Key Verse(s): 1 Peter 3:15-16

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. (KJV)
