The Road to Summit 2018

The Road to Summit

In a few days, hundreds of people will begin the journey to Springfield, Missouri to be a part of Summit 2018. They will travel by land, by air, and by sea (well, maybe not by sea), in planes, trains, and automobiles.

Some of the Summit leadership team are already en-route to the area to complete final preparations.

Summit social media will be embarking on a road trip to Summit beginning early Tuesday morning. You can follow us on our journey to Summit by following the various Summit social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).

We encourage you to post your Summit travel and experiences on your social media channels as well  using the hashtag #summit-j18 (and #summitj18) and tagging Summit-Journey (Facebook = @journeysummit, Twitter = (Twitter = @Summit_Journey, Instagram = @summit_journey).

You can also e-mail pictures, testimonies, and stories from Summit to socialmedia@summit-journey.org (NOTE: by sending this information to us you are giving permission to use them in social media and other promotional materials)

We look forward to seeing you in a few days and hope you will follow us on our journey to Summit, sharing yours as well.

Summit General Information

We are busy finalizing plans for Summit. We are excited to see you next week.

We want to remind you that the College Fair is during registration/check in. Please bring your students with you when you check-in. Raffle tickets for the college fair will be given to each student. They need to visit all the colleges/ministries for a chance to win some cool prizes, like an iPad mini 4 128 GB!!!

Also, remember that you need to turn in your release forms at registration this year. Please give us the originals and keep a copy for yourself. You should carry that copy with you to all events.

FOOD

Students and Teams may only bring prepared food only at Crossway Baptist Church. Crossway Baptist Church does not cater but there are local vendors that could be catered from. No water, or other beverages or food allowed in the auditorium.

The Courts (for games and most of volleyball) sells food and drink items and does not allow the selling, disbursement, or consumption of outside food and/or drink in the facility. Although they want you to purchase all concessions from them, they have agreed to allowing outside water. Their food court will be available for purchasing of food (snack bar, pizza buffet, sub sandwich shop, ice cream bar, and seating) and/or drink. Below are links to information about concessions at The Courts.

Wristbands and Daily Passes

Wristband or daily passes are required for ALL adults and students who are attending Summit, not just the youth leaders and the students.

Daily spectator passes are available for the competitions and events (AwanaGames, Bible Quiz, Fine Arts, Volleyball and the Citation Ceremony) and can be purchased for $10 each day at the Summit Office (Crossway Baptist Church, Room A3).

Lost and Found

Lost items turned in to Summit will be stored in the Summit Office (Crossway Baptist Church, Room A3). Any items not claimed by the end of Summit will be thrown, or given, away.

You are Part of the Legacy

His Legacy... Our Commission

Each year at Summit, an offering is taken for a worthy cause. This year at Summit the offering will be taken for the Legacy Project of Awana.

Art Rorheim left a legacy of sharing the Gospel and you are a part of that legacy.  A generous donor has provided Awana with a matching gift opportunity in honor of Art’s life and legacy. Between now and May 7th, which would have been Art’s 100th birthday, this anonymous donor will match gifts up to $100,000. This means that any gift/offering given during Summit will be a part of this matching gift. Yes, your gift will be doubled!!!

Please prayerfully consider how you can join with us at Summit as we work to carry on the legacy of Art Rorheim through this offering.
