Virtual Summit 2021 Update

A reminder that registration deadline dates are quickly approaching. Check the Summit website for registration information. If you have been wondering about Summit 2021 t-shirts, we encourage you to watch for information coming soon.

This year, as we go virtual, we will be holding Quizzing! This will be modified with no speed questions, yet still allow Journey students from across the country to compete in an online format. We are finalizing information for quizzing and plan to have it available soon along with a date for a coaches meeting to answer any questions. We will post the information as soon as it is ready.

As for the schedule for Summit weekend, we are finalizing times. Here is a basic outline:

Friday, April 16th, Creative Writing will be held in the evening (time to be determined)

Saturday, April 17th, Quizzing and Closing with Announcement of Citation earners, Fine Arts winners, and Quizzing Champs along with challenging message. Our initial plan is to have Quizzing with a small break and then the closing. This will allow groups to gather (as able) for quizzing, have a break for a meal and time of fellowship, and then enjoy the closing ceremony.

Information and times will be made available as they are finalized.

The Summit Team understands the disappointment of not being able to meet in person as we share that same disappointment. Please keep the Summit team in prayer as we navigate and plan this virtual event. We hope you will be a part.

Summit 2021 to be a Virtual Event

In consultation with McLean Bible, the host facility for summit 2021, it has been decided to cancel the “in-person” event and move summit 2021 to a virtual event like Summit 2020.

We will hold Fine Arts competitions as well as honoring those who earned their Citation award during this global pandemic.

We are discussing the possibility of holding quizzing in some format virtually.

This blog will be updated with information on the virtual event as we finalize items, so keep checking back often.

If you have already registered, we will contact you with information about refunds, etc.

Please have Citation Plaques sent to your church or your home.

We are saddened that the Summit in-person event has moved to being virtual, but even though we will not gather in person, we want to commission and encourage you with the words of Jesus from Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Go out and be messengers of God to the world, being disciples, and making disciples. Now more than ever the world needs to know about God. The world needs our prayers. You are well prepared to go and share God’s love with them. We send you out to share God’s love and look forward to your good report when we are able to meet again.

Thank you for understanding, and we hope to see you at the Summit 2021 virtual event and in person next year in 2022.

Your Summit 2021 Team

Happy New Year from the Summit Team

There may never be a time when so many were looking forward to a new year. We are all ready to put 2020 behind us and look forward to some normalcy in 2021. Although we cannot be sure when that will be, we look forward to spending holidays with family and friends.

The Summit team wants to wish everyone a happy new year and our hope is that we will be able to gather together in April. We are watching the various restrictions and are optimistic that we will be able to meet, but realize that restrictions may prohibit it.

The Summit website has the latest information with all of the rule books available, the registration link and volunteer links are now live.

We are moving into the new year working to have a memorable event and eager to see how God will use each of you as you study, learning to be disciples, making disciples, and using your talents for Him.

May God use you in amazing ways as you grow closer to Him in the new year.

Happy New Year!!!
